Not much has happened today. I saw that Daphne let you all know about my room change. Thank God. I was in a room with a fellow who left his TV on until two thirty in the morning at full volume. I finally had enough and just walked over and shut it off. I figured, if he is awake, I'll handle it. If he's asleep, good for me. He was asleep so Daphne and I had a quiet room until about seven thirty in the morning when, guess what!? Back on again at full volume. I am never going to watch NBA or BET ever in my life, I have been permanently scarred. But, that is all better now. I leaned on the nursing staff since Thu. night and kept reminding them of how nice it would be to have a private room. I tried to include the correct amount of Richie charm, (much to Daphne's groaning), but it must have worked because I am now in a nice quiet room with a refrigerator/freezer and my own TV with volume/channel control. Well, I needed to vent a little bit to some new people so thank you all for lending an ear. I will update again soon enough.
Roses are red,
H.U.P. food is yucky.
It has more rubber,
Than a yellow toy ducky. Who loves ya?! Richie

I understand you're losing a bit of hair. That's easy enough to solve. Shave your head, stick a lollipop in your mouth, and walk around saying "Who loves ya, baby !!!" Hey, it worked for Kojak (are aren't you old enough to remember that TV show ?).
Sorry it's taken me so long to write. As usual, things have been hectic around here. Laura's teaching an online class in addition to her traditional class at Carlow. Abby and Katie are always on the computer, playing games on PBSKIDS.COM. Most of the time I can't get a lot of time on the computer until they go to bed (I was posting some items on www.catholic-pages.com the other morning at 2:00 PM), and half the time I have to reboot because they've done something that screws up one of the web browsers.
We're really glad to hear that the chemo (fortified by prayers, of course) is taking effect. Sounds like you've got a pretty good support group going, too. I just can't imagine why you don't want to watch basketball 24/7. I keep trying to talk Laura into getting ESPN so I can watch sports around-the-clock. That'd be heaven for me.
Hang in there, buddy. We're all praying for you.

Richie,
Darlene likes your poem. So your having problems with the TV, that’s easy you know how to cut the cord, I’ll bet it would take a week to get it repaired… Come on I thought you would have been able to remember how to adlib. Happy to hear you have a room to yourself now you won’t have to sabotage the equipment.
Well you got out of another snow detail, you have it scheduled correctly, good job.
Well it’s late and I did have to deal with the snow, hang in there and remember there are twice as many protestant prayers going up due to the difference in the effect…
Love Ya,
Carl & Darlene
P.S. Hug & Hi to Daphne
Hey Richard I love being able to read your posts and experience that unique "Richard" sense of humor! ;-)
Please know that we are praying for you!

Tim, Michele and family
Richard, you don't know me (but I sort of know Michele Quigley, who knows you). I want you to know that our family is praying for you. My dad has been going through the cancer battle, so we are intimately familiar with the hospital schedules, pee canteens, yummy food and all the rest. :) I love your sense of humor and your "Roses" poetry!
God bless you, your family and Daphne in this battle.
