Cancer Boy Giving A New Update

Hello everyone. I finally am taking a moment to chill out and let you all know what is going on. Right now, fortunately, no news is good news. I have had about four good energy days and have not needed to sleep during the day at all. I have watched the latest three 007 James Bond movies and several other movies due to the fact that daytime television is somewhat uneventful. I have been reading a Sidney Poiter book that was given to me at the University of Pennsylvania by a lady passing by me in the hallway and will be moving into a Lance Armstrong book next. Sometimes it gets a little boring just sitting and reading a book so that is why I break the monotony by watching some tv or fooling around with a little project in the garage, etc., etc. My white blood cells took a hell of a plunge about five days after returning from H.U.P. but are slowly climbing their way back up to normal. I took a drive with Daphne on Saturday to run an errand and I drove for the first time in five weeks. That's a little wierd for a guy who logs 450 miles a week on my company truck driving all over plumbing the world. It felt good though. The temperature was warmer than normal so I put the window down and took the long way home. It is amazing the little things that I took for granted before now mean so much to do. Well, I am going to go for now. I hope everyone is doing well. I will try to update a little more often. I am not used to having this yet so most times Daphne needs to remind me to update. Talk to you soon!! Love Richie D.

So nice to hear you are feeling stronger and that sleep is not as often. Even better, that your body is producing more white cells. I always found it so amazing how our bodies heal themselves.

Ya know, Rich. We all take so many things for granted, even though we try our best to enjoy every moment. I sometimes get so tired of the running that I just stop, grab the kids and play:) That is truly what life is all about. God gives us so many wonderful gifts and we just don't always remember to appreciate them. Well, now that I am writing this, I think I'll grab the kids and go play!!

My prayers are always with you and here's to even better days ahead!!

Thanks for the update... love to Daphne, Peter and Mom and Dad.

I forgot to mention that Chris and I are in the middle of gutting our master bath to give it a fresh look. Boy could we use a good plumber right now. I guess that leaves you out!! JUST KIDDING!

Hi Richard,
We are so glad to hear you are doing well. It's great that you were able to get out of the house. My cousin that I was telling you about emailed me. I have put his message her for you in case you would like to email him.
Hey Kathy,

My email address is jlomire@bbmtechnicians.com
I will be happy to communicate via email, telephone or otherwise to help your friend through
his trauma. Lymphoma is very manageable if you get it on the front end. I can assure your friend that he has a great chance at a normal life and hopefully allay his fears. Cancer is a scary thing and you really need
to have an iron will, no fear, and face it head on. Have him email me with his concerns and I will lend a helping hand in any way I can and talk about my experience with it. Hopefully everything else
life.
Thanks
John Lomire

Hey cancer boy!I am very glad your blood count is up and that you were able to go out with your wife....Speaking of simple things I was reading a book called " Curing Cancer the Natural Way" in the book they talk about just appreciating the little things in life like your ride in the car..I heard that bringing in firewood is a simple thing...You know you can appreciate firewood cause it keeps your sorry butt warm all the time...Also the book had a chapter in it called vacuming your way to a cancer free life...You should try it while you are home...There are also chapters on dusting, folding clothes and washing dishes.....READ THE BOOK!!!! I hope you feel better soon...LOVE DAD!!!!!!!

You're right, Aunt Angela, the little everyday-life-moments we so often take for granted. Seeing the look on Richie's face when we took that drive together on Saturday...we were just enjoying being together and the "normal" activities going on all around us. Richard and I have always just enjoyed talking, laughing, and being together. I thank God everyday that Richard has days where he feels like himself. It's helps him maintain his positive attitude. Richie, you're the best! I LOVE YOU!
...and by the way, if the jobs your dad wants to give you to keep you busy are not suitable for you, I could come up with some things for you to work on... XO Love, Me
